The art of barbequing has risen to a different level in recent years with the revived interest in genuine wood fired cooking. Instead of using the traditional briquette or gas fired grill we are finding much more satisfaction cooking over real wood such as alder, oak, mesquite or whatever good cooking hardwood is available where we live. For centuries bread has been baked in wood fired ovens made out of masonry, stone or steel and the secret to thick crunchy crust is held therein. It is a well known fact that wood fired cooking is and always has been the key to many cooking secrets. It is no wonder that every chateau or manor visited in France has a wood fired cooking system. The flavor, the smoke, and the heat is unsurpassed and those of us who love cooking good food continue to search for a way that will take us back to that quality and simplicity.
For years, in the South, a tradition of luscious smoked meats from Texas beef to Carolina's pork has been a part of Americana. Could there be a way of combining the essence of smoking with qualities that would allow us to cook bread in the same system? It is indeed the wood fired pizza oven. We have the cooking process outdoors on those warm summer evenings and we can enjoy great pizza, the way we like it, with the crust of Spain and flavor that takes us and our guests to an experience of the old country. And when we want to cook our favorite meat we can do it slowly with a thick smoke surrounding it forming itself into a savory offering for our guests as we work our way through a memorable dinner reminiscent of a night on the Loire River in the midst of France.
Outdoor pizza ovens come in several different forms for the serious follower of Old World cooking. The traditional Italian wood fired pizza oven is often built into a deck or patio system as a gathering place and conversation piece around which real quality food can be enjoyed in an intimate setting. This system, because of the need for fairly sophisticated masonry work, can be expensive and many times the average food lover cannot afford such a system. The other choice is a steel, free standing wood fired pizza oven like ours which requires no special masonry work or installment and can be used right from the box.
Using Old Fashioned convection styled heating, one simply builds a fire in the firebox and waits for the oven to heat to temperature. All the controls of a wood stove are provided with the unit to control and encourage the fire so that it lights easily and heats to temperature safely and trouble free. When the oven has reached the correct cooking temperature it can be used to roast meat, bake pizza, bake bread, and anything imaginable. Our outdoor pizza oven has a method to divert the smoke from the flavored wood to the oven to enhance the taste. At times, such as bread baking time, the wood smoke needs to be channeled out the chimney so as not to affect the essence of the creation. Not only does it make real wood cooking available to the average person but it provides a very attractive addition to your deck or patio as you entertain.
Outdoor pizza ovens bring back the enjoyment of the process of cooking with wood. Having Your Own personal pizza oven outside on a beautiful summer evening, in your own intimate setting, with good friends or family, will make for a memorable experience that you and your guests will long remember.

The Theme of Your Anniversary Party Cards, http://www.cardsshoppe.com/anniversary-invitations/anniversary-party.htm
A theme is usually a good idea to have for any type of event. With a 25th or 50th anniversary, for example, you might select a silver or gold theme or you might focus on celebrating the decade in which the couple was married. You could also select a theme that coincides with tradition. For example, a first anniversary is supposed to be the paper anniversary so that could be your theme. No matter which theme you choose make sure to choose anniversary party cards that match.
Picking Locations & the Anniversary Party Wedding Invitations, http://www.announcements-shoppe.com/Anniversary-Invitations-Announcements-Cards/productsList-15-1.htm
One of the first steps after you settle on a theme is to pick a location for the event. There are plenty of options available. You could have an intimate event in your home or you could rent a party hall or other venue for guests. Some public zoos and botanical gardens are even available for rental for celebrations if you want to be truly unique. The only real limitation on your choice of location is your number of invited guests and your budget.
Make sure to choose Wedding Party invitations that are different and special. You don't want to send out the same old boring card. Instead, work on making a fabulous first impression on the guests. That means you'll want to shop around a little bit and avoid buying those cheap bulk party anniversary invitations, http://www.express-invitations.com/anniversary-invitations/ at your local grocery store. They may be cheap but that's also the message they'll be sending to guests.
A better option is to look online possible invitation options because you'll find a larger selection. There's also the option of using photo invitations anniversary that are always going to be a winner and are always going to be unique. These are readily available through online vendors as well. The other nice thing about shopping for the invitations online is that it's more convenient than going to any brick and mortar store.
Of course, you should always purchase your anniversary party invites in advance. You want to have them in the mail about two weeks before the date of the event. That gives guests enough time to RSVP and to make their own arrangements. Be sure to limit your guest list to only people who are close to the couple - that means weeding out anyone who might ruin their good time.
Refreshments
One of the other big planning areas you'll need to worry about is refreshments. If you're on a budget, consider keeping refreshments at a minimum. Serve some cake and punch but nothing more. For casual parties, you could have a barbecue or a cookout. Lunch meat and cheese trays are a nice idea for an early afternoon celebration. If you're planning on having a formal wedding anniversary party, hire caterers to set up a buffet or to serve your guests. When the wedding anniversary party is over, you want all of your guests to be able to look at those anniversary invitations, http://www.announcements-shoppe.com/cards and remember the great time they had celebrating a special couple.

How to have a destination wedding party?
Im thinking about having a destination wedding in colorado. I want it to be an intimate ceremony with only close family and friends, but then again I would like a bigger reception. Im not planning on paying for the guests but I do plan on attaching with the invite the nearest and cheapest hotel options....(I dont want them at the same hotel as my fiance and I) But anyway, my question is how do we work the bachelor party and everything. Should we plan on the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and the bride and grooom to fly up a day or two early?
right don't worry about paying for anyone's accommodations, even the wedding party and relatives. the thing with a destination wedding is it's smaller because not everyone that you want to be there can afford it sadly. but that's how it goes. so invite the people you want there and let them decide on their own if they can find cheap flights & hotel.
as with all wedding invitations, you should include a small card w/ local hotel info. 1-2 hotels is adequate. you can even call those hotels and ask for a 'block' discount. then when guests call to book their rooms, if they ask for the 'smith block' they will get that discount.
you don't really have any control over what hotel they stay in- there's no way to keep them out of the hotel where you'll be spending your wedding night. it's a free country after all. and I think you'll find it very very hard to keep your hotel info a secret from your parents, bridesmaids etc. if guests randomly book hotel rooms at the same place you're staying, not knowing you're gonna be there, you can't really do anything about that.
the bachelor and bachelorette parties can be held up to a month before the wedding. I wouldn't recommend doing it 1-2 days beforehand. this requires your wedding party and any other guests you want at the bachelor and bachelorette parties to take more time off work and spend more $$$ on nights in the hotel. it's easier to just have the bachelor and bachelorette parties near your home prior to the week of the wedding when you'll be traveling.

It grows more quaintly silly with each passing year, but The Wedding Party can be enjoyed for more than Robert De Niro's modest screen debut. Brian De Palma's first feature is not entirely his own (friends Wilford Leach and Cynthia Munroe are credited as codirectors), and that may explain why this whimsical black-and-white comedy reveals no early hint of the Hitchcockian thrillers that De Palma be...
The producers of the American Pie movies pushed their luck with a third slice of their lucrative raunchy comedy franchise, and American Wedding cooked up surprisingly well. It's the sourest serving of Pie, with half of the original cast missing, and there's something undeniably desperate about comedic highlights (involving dog poop, a lusty old lady, two strippers to offset the absence of Shannon ...
Global Trade Of Wood Chips Down 26% In 2009 As Pulpmills Reduce Production Worldwide, Reports Wood Resources International
Seattle, USA. Global trade of wood chips has increased on average four percent per year from 2004 to 2008 reaching a record 32 million tons last year. This upward trend was broken in 2009 with trade being down 26% during the first half of the year as compared to 2008. The drop in shipments was the direct result of the global financial crises and the reduced demand for paper products worldwide.
This year, only an estimated 25 million tons of wood chips will be shipped worldwide, which is the lowest volume since 2002. Japanese pulp mills are still the major destination for the world's chips vessels; the country imported 53% of globally traded hardwood chips and 15% of softwood chips. Other countries in Asia, including China, Taiwan and South Korea, accounted for 12% of global imports, while the Nordic Countries have imported 14% of traded chips this year.
The biggest plunge in shipments has been that of wood chips to Japan. During the first six months, the country imported 34% less chips than the same period last year, with the biggest decline being that of softwood chips. Practically all major importing countries have reduced their purchases this year. The only countries that have increased their reliance on imported wood fiber are Turkey (softwood), China (hardwood), Sweden (hardwood) and Portugal (hardwood).
The countries that have reduced exports the most in 2009 are Australia, South Africa, Vietnam and Uruguay. Australia, the world's largest exporter, has reduced shipments from 3.1 million tons the 1H last year to 2.3 million tons during the same period this year, reports the market report the Wood Resource Quarterly. Uruguay has cut back exports 65% this year, while shipments from South Africa have declined 40%. With pulp production slowly increasing this fall and energy companies in Europe searching for additional sources of woody biomass, it is likely that trade with wood chips will increase in the coming year.
On March 16-17, 2010, the 4th Global Wood Fiber Conference: Trade in Wood chips and Biomass will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The conference will focus on developments in woodchip markets worldwide, European demand for pellets and biomass chips, outlook for plantation wood chip supply, ocean freight costs and wood chip price trends.
Following the conference, there will be a two-day field trip to visit forest plantations and chip export facilities. For more information, please go to www.pulpwoodconference.com

Which is better for the average "smoker", a smoker that uses wood chips or one that uses sticks of wood?
I am thinking of getting my husband a meat smoker for Christmas. I would like some feedback to which the readers prefer, wood-chip or whole stick. Also which one is better, an electric or gas operated one? Any suggestions is appreciated. Thanks
An electric one that uses wood chips are okay..and do well..but meant for a conveinence and if you only smoke now and then... I smoke alot of whole briskets, ribs, and large cuts of meat at least 3 times a month so I have one that uses whole sticks....and has a seperate smoking box...But I blend my woods..I use oak, pecan, mesquite, and any fruit wood I can find..I have no particular blend of these woods..it just depends on where my "taste buds are wanting" at that particular time..but heres apro and con on the electric smoker...It is very hard and does not work well for direct grilling such as burgers, steaks, fish, sausage or anythign you want to be flamed kissed..you can get a good smoker that burns sticks for about 119.00 dollars at walmart that do pretty good..they have a seperate firebox on the side for indirect cooking(smoking)..and you have the option of putting wood right underneath on the grill part instead when you want to direct grill foods...You can also use wood chips in these if you like..You get the best of both worlds with a reguklar wood ran smoker....with the electric smoker..You do not have much of an option on direct grilling..unless you break it down and just use the bottom part..it is more like grilling food on an electric element instead of grilling....Smoking foods take hours..12 to 15 hours when doing like a brisket..and a person dont always have this much time..so with the stick smoker..You have other optons and can do a steak in under a hour..from starting the fire..to being cooked..here is a picture of a decent one..but yet inexpensive..lol My smoker is 12 feet long..I do 10 or 15 briskets sometimes at one time....4th of july..memorial day etycetyera..
Heres a small one like i was talking about..on sell for 86.00...they work for both grilling and smoking...
Pure ground wood chip for use with the Stovetop Smoker. These chips are specially prepared for the stovetop smoker. They ignite easily and 100% combust giving off just the right amount of smoke to flavor the food being cooked....
Fractured fairy tales of a darker hue provide the remarkablecontext for Into the Woods, which deconstructs the Brothers Grimm by way of Rod Serling. One more terrific film from a terrific year for movies--1939, the year of Gone with the Wind, The Wizard of Oz, and Stagecoach, among others--Sam Wood's Goodbye Mr. Chips is a deeply stirring work starring Robert Donat as the old schoolmaster who looks back upon his life. Told mostly in flashbacks, the film wraps itself around a history of an older England as seen through the generations of boys ...

Simple (but Smart!) Buffet Table Setting Tips: Setting Up the Room
There's just a ton of buffet table setting advice on the web. All you have to do is a quick search— soon you'll be overrun with advice on how to add height to your tables. Or how to arrange the dishes you'll be serving "just so." Or how to decorate the buffet table like this, or provide these plates, or arrange utensils so they're easy for your buffet guests to take with them.
And all of this is good advice. But before you can follow any of it, you first have to know one very basic thing: how to set up a room for a buffet reception or dinner party.
But that's easy, you might say. Just chuck a table against the wall for the food, set some plates up on the end, and set up another little table for desserts and drinks. Done. After all, how much could go into simply arranging a room for a buffet dinner?
Actually, more than you might think. The arrangement of the space in which the buffet is held affects the entire buffet— a well-arranged room reduces spills, looks nice, and makes things easier on your guests. Want to get it right? Read on for three easy-to-follow tips on preparing a space for a buffet dinner.
1. Buffet Table Placement The first instinct of many hosts and hostesses of a buffet dinner party or reception is to place the buffet table against the wall. This keeps it out of the way and allows more room for seating. But if you have enough space, the middle of the room is the best place for the buffet table. Why? Well, if you only have one buffet table setting, it allows equal access from both sides of the room. It also makes it easier to serve from both sides of the table, and allows mingling, snacking dinner guests to chat together in closer proximity to the table. This works especially well for finger food buffets.
2. Distance the Drinks Table. Sure, occasionally a plate is dumped over during a buffet dinner, but it's drinks you really have to worry about. The best way to prevent nasty spills? Set the drinks table up across the room from the food buffet. This will keep traffic to a minimum, minimizing the chances of guest collisions and nasty drinks spills. As a bonus, it may also prevent guests from trying to juggle loaded dinner plates in one hand and drinks in the other. They'll generally visit their table to drop off a plate of food before getting drinks, minimizing the chance of spillage. Even better, provide water and wine on the tables themselves, and make getting up to get a drink completely optional.
3. Know the Seating Arrangements. Unfortunately, most of us weren't blessed with tons and tons of space in which to set up a buffet table. And when space runs short, one of the first things to go is seating. If you don't have room for designated tables for your guests, chances are they'll have to perch on chairs, sofa-arms, or whatever piece of furniture they have handy. If this is the case, think of rearranging the dining area temporarily for your guests. Add extra end tables or TV trays to the space, and move chairs and other seating closer to tables, shelves and other places for guests to rest cups, plates, elbows, whatever. There's nothing worse than being perched on the end of a chair with nowhere to place your drink so you can eat your dinner. Think of your guests. Even if that TV tray looks silly in the middle of the room, put it there anyway.

Pygmy Date Palm, Phoenix roebellenii, originated in Asia and can grow to 10 Feet Tall, but it is not a fast grower. This very adaptable, exotic plant, is easy to grow, and has become a very important indoor office palm, because of its beautiful, graceful leaves that grow well in low light. This containerized plant is popular at Sea Island, Georgia, and it has been used massively by the US Government as an outdoor containerized plant to separate crowds from the elite. The Pygmy Date Palm is often commonly used at National, televised political events. Most plant designers recommend buying multiple trunked plants from a nursery that are containerized.
The Bamboo Palm, Chamaedorea erumpens, is a perfect indoor palm that can grow 10 feet tall in a container. The Bamboo palm was so named, because its multiple canes grow like bamboo rings, widely spaced, slender and olive green in color. The Bamboo palm is well adapted to plant and grow in tropical gardens, or as an under story shrub that screens out noise and automobile exhaust fumes. The Bamboo palm grows fast and neatly as a silhouette, privacy, landscape plant in warm areas.
The Sago Palm, Cycas revoluta, is a cycad, not a true Palm Tree. But, it is widely known by the public as a palm tree, and has many characteristics with the landscaped tropical appearance of a palm. The tree is not fast growing, and requires 100 years to develop a trunk 6 feet tall. The trunks on large specimen trees often sprout abundant, small sago shoots that grow out of the trunk at right angles, creating a bazaar sight when planted in the landscape. The Sago palm will survive temperatures of 0 F, and at temps below 20 F will show some foliage burning that will regrow in warm weather. The Sago palm grows well in zones 7 - 10, but some gardeners prefer to containerize the plant to move indoors during the winter or to grow it as a bonsai plant. Many cottage owners at Sea Island, Georgia plant and grow sago palms in the landscape, but some homeowners containerize the sago palms, and place them in pairs at the front doorway entrances.
Lady Palm, Rhapis excelsa, is an ideal office plant, and it can be grown in landscapes, where the temperatures don't drop below 20 F. The Lady palm tree is a favorite indoor plant at the famous resort Cloister Hotel, at Sea Island, Georgia. Very large, 6 - 7 feet Lady palms can be seen growing in 25 gallon containers in extremely low lighted areas inside the Hotel and are placed at dark corners at several covered outside walkways that receive only small amounts of reflective indirect sunlight. This palm may become your office or home favorite. Lady palm trees grow 10 feet.
Triangle palm, Dypsis decaryi, also is called the Madagascar palm, and it originated on the South African Island of Madagascar. The Triangle palm is one of the most bazaarly formed plants ever grown and offered to buy at a nursery, because of the oddly shaped trunk and red clusters of cells on the underside of the blue-green leaves. The dark brown trunk with contrasting glowing, gray leaf scars are exotic in any office container planting.
The Ponytail palm, Beaucamea recurvata, is also called a Bottle palm tree and Elephant Foot palm, but is really not a true palm. The Ponytail Palm is, however, related closely to the agave family. The base of the plant is swollen, woody-looking, and the trunk tapers as it grows larger. Ponytail palms will survive temperatures down to the low 20's F, and can be grown outside in many warm climates, but they grow into very interesting office containerized plants in low light situations, and are not fast growing.
Bauer's Dracaena Palm Tree, Cordyline Baueri, is a beautiful red leaved, slender tree, growing 8-10 feet at maturity with burgundy-red leaves. During the warm summer, a large flower stalk appears with clusters of white flowers. Even though this plant is not a a palm, it is evergreen when planted and grown in temperatures above 20 F. The Bauer Dracaena is a perfect office or indoor containerized plant for Northern States, and will draw entertaining stares from office visitors. Bauer's Dracaena grows well outside in warm climates, but is not a fast growing tree.

where can I buy one of those tacky palm trees with the rope lights?
My Aunt has one and I want one for my deck, but she doesn't remember where she got it,and I was looking for one.Hers has a white painted metal frame with just green and white rope lights, green for the leaves and white for the trunk. The trunk spirals up to the leaves. It's very tacky looking but it would be great for outdoor parties at night in the summer.I think my Aunt said she got it as a joke gift from somebody, and it was only like 30 or 40 bucks. The ones I saw on the internet are very similar to hers, but much more expensive and the leaves were green with green rope lights.

What is the Difference Between an External Pond Pump and a Submersible Pond Pump?
A person just getting into ponds may be confused at the terminology and types of pond pumps, particularly when trying to determine the type of pump they need for their pond. The most common questions is “What is the difference between an external pond pump and a submersible pond pump?”
The easiest and most simplified answer is to say that one is used outside of the pond (external) and the other is used inside of the pond (submersible). However this really does not fully answer the question.
It is true that an external pond pump is placed on dry ground outside of the pond, but there are other things to note about an external pump. External pond pumps. are going to be best for larger ponds due to the fact that they are more energy efficient and are capable of moving larger volumes of water. Usually ponds over a couple of thousands of gallons will benefit more from an external pump or ponds with larger water features may also need a larger external pump due to the distance that the water is going to travel to supply water to the Water Feature as in the case of a large waterfall. It is also important to note that some external pumps may also need to be hardwired and are not simply “plug and play” like the submersible units.
Speaking of submersible pond pumps. Submersible pumps are going to be best used in small ponds or when powering smaller water features or equipment like a small filter. Submersible pond pumps are very easy to install. Basically they are placed in a desired location in the pond and plugged in and that is it. Furthermore, many submersible pumps come with fountain and spray attachments so that they can easily be utilized as a small fountain feature.
Remember to effectively choose the correct pond pump for your pond, pay attention to the gallons per hour (gph) that the pump move and select the pump that will move the entire volume of water at least once in an hour. So a 5000 gallon pond will most likely need an external pond pump with a rated GPH of at least 5000.

I have an electric water fountain for my backyard pond. I would rather run it via Solar Power. How do I convert it to solar? I would like to include a battery for power storage.
Stats for the fountain: 120 V, 11 watts, 130 gph
I would recommend visiting SmartSolar.com they would have all the parts you need to convert your fountain.
