Additions to your Japanese Water Gardens

Placing lanterns, basins, statues, or religious artefacts are all types of ornaments and should be placed strategically so as not to create distractions from the overall atmosphere. Many people build cedar bridges, benches or enclosures to create a place for meditation. Bridges are typically symbolic of a journey and can represent stepping from one world into another. You may not have a stream to cross, however you can always place it crossing over a bed of plants. It’s all about creating that place of rest, to relieve oneself from the anxiety and stress of the day.
Plants are also an important element to the design of your Japanese water garden. Could I keep koi in this water?
I have a large pond on my property that has been there for years and has fish such as bluegill in it living naturally. If I were to install a Koi Pond in my garden, could I just haul water from the existing pond into the new one and the koi be able to thrive?
It should be able to. Although, that water must not be very clean and you might pick up some extra little creatures like bugs and stuff.
